The Austin boys tennis team lost 6-1 to Owatonna at Paulson Courts Monday.
The Packers (2-2 overall, 0-1 Big Nine) were competitive in all of the doubles matches, but only the No. 1 team of Josh Detwiler and Andrew Heickly was able to get a win.
Detwiler and Heickly won with a 10-7 win in a super-tiebreaker.
“We switched our lineup to fill the doubles teams to see if we could get those and then maybe win one singles match,” Austin head coach Tom Tauchnitz said.
The match was played in extremely cold temperatures.
“Whenever they weren’t taking a shot, they had their hands in their pockets,” Tauchnitz said.
