Alan Ryland Fones, II, 36, of Virginia, Minn., died July 7, 2011, in Duluth.

He was born Sept. 10, 1975, in Meridian, Miss., to Alan Ryland and LaVonne (Seljeseth) Fones. He went to Rosenburg High School and graduated in 1994. He then went to college to study social work. He enjoyed playing and watching baseball, playing drums and other musical instruments. His children were his life.

Alan is survived by his two children, Alexander “Zander” Templin of Bertha, Minn., Rayna Fones of St. Cloud; parents, Alan Ryland and LaVonne Fones of Virginia; sister, Christine (James) Weaver of St. Cloud, brother, Wayne (April) Fones of Foley, Minn.; seven nieces and nephews; special friend, Wendy Held; other relatives and friends.

Range Funeral Home in Hibbing, Minn., is in charge of arrangements. No service is planned.
