Dr. Wallace R. Anderson

Dr. Wallace R. Anderson, formerly of Austin, Minn., and the Austin Medical Clinic, passed away on July 10, 2011, at his home in San Diego, Calif.

Dr. Anderson, pediatrician, joined the Austin Medical Clinic Staff in early 1950. His practice was interrupted in late 1950 when he was called into active military service with the U.S. Army, 1st Cavalry Division in Korea. He resumed his practice in Austin when his stint in the military was over in 1952. In 1962, he accepted the position of medical director of Boynton Health Services at the University of Minnesota and moved to St. Paul. In 1987, Dr. Anderson retired, and in 2006 he moved to San Diego, Calif.

Dr. Wallace Anderson will be fondly remembered by the retired physicians he worked with as well as staff and the patients he served so well.

He is survived by two sons, Bruce of Minneapolis, and Jack (Peggy), a physician in San Diego; three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, who died in 2000.

Memorial services will be held at Como Park Lutheran Church, St. Paul, at 11 a.m. Aug. 22, 2011. Internment will be at Fort Snelling, St Paul.
