The Austin Greyhounds scored eight runs in the last three innings to come back to beat Cannon Falls 12-8 on the road Wednesday.
“They won the first half of the game, but we won the second,” said Hounds player/manager John Frein, who went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Alex Kasak picked up the win in relief as he allowed just one run in six and two-thirds innings on the mound.
“Alex came in and got the job done,” Frein said. “He didn’t do anything spectacular, but he held them off.”
The Hounds (16-7 overall) trailed 8-4 after four innings and Craig Braaten started the comeback with a solo homer in the seventh inning to make it 8-5. Frein singled in a run with two outs to make it a two-run game.
The Hounds took the lead in the eighth when Braaten singled in a run, Joe Huffman had a sacrifice fly and Austin scored two more runs on errors.
Dan Swift and Nels Nelson also homered for Austin.
