A 31-year-old Austin woman accused of selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant pleaded not guilty in Mower County District Court Thursday.
Jennifer Marie Ambriz pleaded not guilty to four criminal charges — second-degree drug sales, storing meth paraphernalia in the presence of a child and two counts third-degree drug sales. Her jury trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 24 with Judge Donald Rysavy presiding.
According to the criminal complaint, officers from the Southern Minnesota Drug Task Force arranged for a confidential informant (CI) to buy meth from Ambriz on two occasions.
On April 15, the CI went to Ambriz’s residence, 200 First St. SE, and bought 1.1 grams of meth. The CI told officers there were two children in the home at the time of the purchase. The CI purchased two more grams on April 22, according to court documents.
Police searched Ambriz’s home on April 26 and seized two cell phones, papers with phone numbers written on them and a glass pipe that tested positive for meth for evidence.
