Art Center announces winners of annual fair exhibit

The Austin Area Art Center announced the winners for the 2011 Mower County Free Fair Fine Arts Exhibit.
The Art Center thanked all the participating artists and the fine work they created for this year’s exhibit. The Center also thanked the workers and volunteers dedicated to the fair.
Art Exhibit Winners
Professional Oil/Acrylic: First place and grand champion — “Aunt Dory” by Tammy Schneider. Second place — “She’s Shopping” by Sally Gerhart. Third place — “Royal Bird” by Jim Wegner. Honorable mention — “Bandshell Park” by Sally Gerhart.
Professional Watercolor: First place — “Yellow Iris” by Jim Wegner. Second place — “Mower County Courthouse, Old and New” by Bonnie Lee. Third place — “Minnesota Stable” by Jim Wegner. Honorable mention — “Helen” Elmhurst Express” by Bonnie Lee.
Professional Drawing: First place — “In the Shadow of Kilimanjaro” by William Olson. Second place — “Drilling Oats” by William Olson. Third place — “Averie Serene” by Justin Hultgren. Honorable mention — “Eagle Dance” by Jim Wegner.
Pro-Am Oil/Acrylic: First place — “Superior Breaks” by Arnold Lang. Second place — “Thistle Time” by Julie Stephenson. Third place — “Flushed Covey” by Arnold Lang. Honorable mention — “Kenora Cat” by Arnold Lang.
Pro-Am Watercolor: First place — “Snow Cardinals” by Julie Stephenson. Second place — “A Study in Blue” by Vonne Jondal. Third place — “Colorado River” by Vonne Jondal. Honorable mention — “Board Meeting” by Lora Lee Bauer.
Amateur Oil/Acrylic: First place — “Navajo Chief” by Mary Wolcott. Second place — “Sunset on the Lake” by Donna Spinler. Third place — “My Cone Flower” by Donna Spinler.
