The Austin girls swimming and diving team opened its season with a 95-89 loss to Albert Lea at Ellis Middle School Tuesday.

Merideth Fritz won the 200-yard individual medley, Emily McAlister won the 100-yard butterfly, Lindsey Halsey won the 100-yard backstroke and the 400-yard relay team of Helen Heimark, Fritz, Mikayla Finney, and Halsey took first.
