The Austin Big Band will debut at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, on Sunday, Aug. 22.

The band, consisting of 17 area musicians, will play from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are $10.

The Austin Big Band performs big band hits ranging from the 1940s to the present time. The band has been performing throughout southern Minnesota for the last 16 years; its most recent performance was at the Paramount Theatre.

Band manager Nathan Wradislavsky said the band is also available for private parties, weddings and corporate functions.
