Frank Claybourne laid aside his earthly chores, peacefully at home, on July 28, 2011, at the age of 95. He was born on July 7, 1916, in Albert Lea, the first son of Mort and Nellie Claybourne. He learned his life’s values growing up in Albert Lea where he was an Eagle Scout, delivered newspapers and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1932. He attended the University of Minnesota.

In 1940 he married Ingrid Larsen from Honolulu, Hawaii. They had three children, while Frank returned to attend the University of Minnesota Law School and then to practice law as a litigation attorney with Doherty, Rumble and Butler in St. Paul. He led a very active career participating in everything from youth corrections to court reform. He was elected president of the Minnesota State Bar Association in 1979 and retired in 1996.

Frank is survived by his children: Stephen (Sue), Philip (Penny) and Marcia Arasz (Walter Kruger); six grandchildren: Jennifer Claybourne-Torkelson (Scot), Daniel, Amber, Anne Doyscher (Steven), Jesse Aufterheidie (Ben) and Jolene Arasz; and three great-grandchildren: Zachery Doyscher, Gracie Doyscher and Sylvia Torkelson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ingrid; his parents; his brother, Robbin; and sister, Ruth.

A private memorial service was held in Wyoming, Minn. In lieu of flowers send memorials to the American Cancer Society.
