James Albert (JR) Radtke, 43

JR passed away peacefully from cancer on Aug. 28, 2011, at the home of his sister and brother-in-law in Lyle with his family by his side.
James was born June 12, 1968, in Owatonna, Minn., the son of Reuben and Ruth (Duncanson) Radtke. JR grew up in Owatonna, Hope and Austin. He was married to Tammy Bos on Jan. 11, 2002, in Austin. Tammy passed away on October 28, 2002. JR worked for Morem’s Tree Service, Blount, Featherlite, RDM and KC Lawncare and Snow Removal.
Starting at age 13, JR became a lifelong stockcar fan. JR was involved in racing as a builder of cars, pitman and a driver of car 79. His enthusiasm was at the highest when he was at any track in the area. He lived for racing. JR was a true fan of Dale Earnhardt and honored him by wearing black.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Radtke; father, Reuben Radtke and a great-nephew, Lee Rinaldi.
He is survived his mother, Ruth Radtke, Austin; sister, and brother-in-law, Jackie and Kim Crawford, Lyle, Minn.; brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Christine Radtke, Red Wing, Minn.; nieces, Amber Crawford, Austin, Holly Crawford (Justin Hovde), Austin; special friends, Angie Leglar, Albert Wytaske and Mark and Nancy Lenz.
Visitation will be at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31. A private family service will be held. Albert Wytaske will be the honorary casket bearer.
