Jean Lynn Bergstrom died Aug. 17, 2011, in Litchfield, Minn., after battling cancer.

She was born Aug. 22, 1952, in Thief River Falls, Minn., to Lowell and Doris (Skatvold) Sovde. She married Jeffrey Jon Bergstrom on May 30, 1981. She attended Oklee High School, in Oklee, Minn., and graduated in 1970. She later graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn., in 1979. She worked at Meeker Memorial Hospital, in Litchfield.

She was a member of Beckville Lutheran Church WELCA, Meeker Memorial Hospital Cancer Support Group, Relay for Life and enjoyed cooking, baking, planting flowers and watching the Minnesota Vikings, a team she followed through thick and thin for 40 years.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Jeff Bergstrom of Litchfield; sons, Jon of Bagley and Erik (Lauren) Bergstrom of Richfield; mother, Doris Sovde of Bemidji; brothers David (Cindy) Sovde and Leigh (Deb) Sovde of Bemidji; a sister, Cindy (Scott) Sundrud of Edina, Minnesota; and a grandson, Eli of Bagley. She also has a beautiful, large extended family of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Sovde, sister Debbie Sovde, and her grandparents.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Aug. 24 at Beckville Lutheran Church in Litchfield with a visitation starting at 11 a.m.
