A LeRoy man was charged Wednesday with three counts of criminal sexual conduct after a 13-year-old relative told police he allegedly sexually abused her for almost eight years.
Neal Scott Johnson, 45, was charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct on Aug. 3 after the victim went to police July 30, according to police records. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 30 years and $40,000 in fines.
The victim told police Johnson had abused her since 2003, when she was five years old. The victim told police that in 2004, Johnson forced her to perform oral sex on him in her bedroom at least four times a month. In 2005, the sexual encounters continued, according to the complaint. In addition, Johnson allegedly attempted various forms of sexual penetration in 2006.
The victim told police the abuse would occur at least four to five times a month, but over time happened around 10 times a month. The victim said the last time was on July 16.
Johnson was arrested and transported to Mower County Jail, where he declined to be interviewed by police. He is in jail pending bond of $500,000 plus conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 11.
