Lola (Kruger) Lysne, 92

Lola (Kruger) Lysne, 92, of Austin, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.

Lola was born June 14, 1919, in Parshall, N.D., to Clarence and Mathilda (Holden) Orpen. Lola attended school in Hayfield. On Feb. 23, 1938, Lola married Marvin Kruger in Rochester, Minn. After Marvin’s death in 1967, Lola married Harold Lysne.

Lola was very artistic; she enjoyed painting, cross stitch and crocheting, and she was known for her gardening and flowers. Lola especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Lola was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Kruger and Harold Lysne; son, Larry Kruger; son-in-law, Larry Jensen and sister, Donna Nowell.

Lola is survived by her daughters, Barbara Jensen of Austin and Becky (Steve) Schneberger of Cloquet, Minn.; step daughters, Pam (Alan) Wigant of Austin, Judy (Mike) Wolfe of Tempe, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence (Joanne) Orpen Jr. of Austin; sister, Marilyn (Hollis) Jacobsen of Columbus, Mont.

Memorial Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Karen Behling officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday and for one hour before the service on Saturday.
