Marilyn Esther House, 78, of Austin, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at Milestone Senior Living in Faribault.
Marilyn was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Hancock County, Iowa, to Oscar and Lena (Hintz) Kohlwes. On Oct. 17, 1953, she was united in marriage to Daryl Maloney. Marilyn worked at the Austin Daily Herald and was co-owner of the Amoco Station in Austin. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the women’s golf league and enjoyed golf, biking, walking, sewing, puzzles, traveling and was an active sports fan.
Survivors include her children, David and Mary Ann Maloney, Bradenton, Fla., Faith and Steve Heimer, Eden Prairie, Hope and Bart Hansen, Owatonna, Charity and Bryan Wyant, Bondurant, Iowa; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Dorene Kohlwes, Minneapolis, Alice Keeley, Minneapolis; former spouse, Francis “Red” House, Austin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Maloney and her parents.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
