Michael Edward Linse, 66, of Blooming Prairie, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin. He was born Oct. 12, 1944, in Owatonna, Minn., to Edward and Rose (Weller) Linse.

After graduating from Blooming Prairie High School in 1962, he served in the Army from July 1965 to July 1967. On June 21, 1969, he married Karen Oihus in Austin. The couple moved to Blooming Prairie in 1974. Michael was employed by Hormel Foods and King Company in Owatonna. He won several golf club championships and was a member of the USGA for many years. He was also a member of First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Michael loved spending time with his two grandchildren, Colby and Riley.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer (Davin) Johnson of Blooming Prairie; son, Jason Linse of Minneapolis; two grandchildren, Colby and Riley; sister, Joyce (Milton) Ebeling of Bixby; nieces and a nephew; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen in June 2011.

Memorial services will be held at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie at 11 a.m. Thursday Sept. 1, 2011, with the Reverend Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Steele Center Cemetery.
