Mildred G. Mahnke, 95, of Blooming Prairie, Minn., passed away peacefully on Aug. 13, 2011, at the Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie.

She was born Aug. 14, 1915, in Westfield Township, Dodge County, Minn., to John and Bretina (Hensrud) Madsen. Mildred was a lifelong Blooming Prairie area resident. She worked on the family farm when she was young and then worked at Cedarview Care Center in Owatonna many years. In September 1934, Mildred married Walter Mahnke in Hayfield, Minn. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie and enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking.
Survivors include her son, Wallace (Joan) Mahnke of Blooming Prairie; five grandchildren, Michael, Mary Pat, Laurie, Elizabeth and Steven; six great-grandchildren, Heather, Tyler, Justine, Erik, Sara, Abbe; and one great-great-grandchild, Olivia, as well as many other relatives and. Friends.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie, with visitation one hour before the service at church. Interment is at First Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family prefers memorials to Prairie Manor or First Lutheran Church. Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
