Manville E. Klingbeil, 87

Funeral services for Manville E. Klingbeil, 87, of Kasson, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by area servicemen’s organizations. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Manville died Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Prairie Meadow Senior Living in Kasson.

Manville E. Klingbeil was born Feb. 24, 1924, to Fred and Hannah (Boetcher) Klingbeil in Bricelyn. He grew up and went to school in Albert Lea. After graduating from high school, Manville enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in Italy during World War II. On Jan. 18, 1945, Manville was united in marriage to Victoria Stensrud in Fort Hood, Texas. Manville worked for the USDA as a meat inspector at Wilson & Co. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, the American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapshooting. Manville was a volunteer gun safety instructor for 35 years. He also spent many years as a school crossing guard. Manville spent the last three years living in Kasson to be closer to his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going to his grandkid’s and great-grandkid’s events.

Manville is survived by his daughter Judy Evans, his grandchildren Roxanne (Steve) Hagelberger, Westleigh (Lori) Evans, and Melissa (Kurt) Radke; his great-grandchildren Nicholas, Bradley, Amanda, Julia, Noah, Brandon, Delaney, and Evan, as well as several cousins.

Manville was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Victoria, his son-in-law Philip Evans, and his sisters Beverly Stenseth and Ardis Storrer.
