Harold Lincoln Jarvis, 91, of Austin, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Cerenity of Marian, St. Paul.
Harold was born Feb. 12, 1920, in Brownsdale, Minn., to Lyle and Birdie Marie (Cordon) Jarvis. He was raised in Austin; and on Dec. 21, 1941, he was united in marriage to Sheila Jacobson. He was employed at Hormel Foods for 40 years. He was a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church, the Moose Club, Eagles Club, the American Legion and the VFW. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and golfing, and he always had horses on his acreage.
Survivors include his son, Ronald (Lynnette) Jarvis of Lakeville; daughters, Dee (Jody) McDaniels of St. Paul Park and Nancy (James) Mayer of Port St. Joe, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Evelyn) Jarvis of Austin; sisters, Lois (Ross) Rockwell and Gladys Lillie of Austin; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sheila and his brother, Howard.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday Sept. 10, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 91 and VFW Post 1216.
