Day of Caring took place Saturday Sept. 17. Day of Caring is a day when volunteers come together to help others in our community complete projects they are not able to do themselves.

We would like to thank our sponsors who helped make Day of Caring possible: KIMT and Hy-Vee for volunteer lunches, Games People Play for donating T-shirts, HRA and Donut Connection for the kick off breakfast, and Austin Public Schools for use of AHS cafeteria. Your generous donations are greatly appreciated.

To all our volunteers-you are what make Day of Caring special. We had an amazing group of volunteers who worked on projects that ranged from window washing to house painting and small home improvement projects. Your time and efforts made a real difference in the lives of those you helped.

One hundred thirty volunteers signed up to work on 14 projects this year. It truly was a community effort, from the donations to the volunteers who willingly gave their time and talents to help their neighbors.

Living united is what it is all about!
