Nellie Retta Boysen, 85, of Austin, died Saturday morning Sept. 10, 2011 at her home.

She was born Aug. 17, 1926, near Rushmore, Minn. the daughter of Thomas and Rena (Dystra) Loverink. She grew up on a farm in Southeast Minnesota one of fourteen children. On May 24, 1947, she married Haven Maurice Boysen at First Baptist Church in Austin. She was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed being a homemaker. She liked to sew and garden and was an excellent cook. Nellie was an active member over the years at First Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School teacher, nursery coordinator and in the mission group.

Survivors include five children, Charlotte (Nick) Downham of Owatonna, Nancy (Chuck) Hansen of Rochester, Haven (Robbie) Miles Boysen of Cannon Falls, Samuel (Vicki) Boysen of Winona and Linda Larson of Austin; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harm (Lola) Loverink of Rose Creek and Garret (Lois) Loverink of Deer River; one sister, Gerty Richards of Jenison, Michigan; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Haven Boysen on Oct. 30, 1994; a great-grandson, Cody Finch; five brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bernie Boldt of the Oakland Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin.
