Russell Duane Nelson, 74, formerly of Austin, died Monday Sept. 5, 2011, at REM Woodvale, Albert Lea.

He was born Jan. 30, 1937, in Freeborn County Minnesota to George Nelson and Mayme (Lowry) Nelson. He has resided in Plainview, Rochester, St. Peter, Austin and most recently, Albert Lea.
Survivors include two sisters, Fern Giffin of Austin and Grace (Paul) Fauth of Lander, Wyo.; brother-in-law, Del Ryland of Scottsdale, Wyo.; sister-in-law, Eleanor Nelson of Woodenville, Wa.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary and brother, George.
Private burial services will be at a later date at Moscow Lutheran Cemetery. The family prefers memorials to the American Red Cross or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
