A 77-year-old Austin woman was cited for failing to yield to a left-turning vehicle turning after she hit a 17-year-old boy on a moped.

Helen Groen was driving north on Fourth St. NW near Superfresh when she began making a left-hand turn in front of the teen, who was driving south on a 2008 Yamaha moped.

The vehicles collided, and the teen was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin to be treated for road rash and a concussion, according to Police Capt. Dave McKichan.
