The memorial service for Marion Jeanette Christenson, of Twin Lakes, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, Albert Lea. The Rev. Mark Boorsma will officiate. Private interment will be in Concordia Bear Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Marion died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society. She was 79 years old.

Marion was born June 17, 1932, in Albert Lea, to Albert and Lydia (Schneider) Drescher. She was a lifetime resident of Twin Lakes and Conger, and a member of Concordia Bear Lake Lutheran Church. Marion married Robert E. Christenson on June 2, 1967, at Glenville. She was a lifelong farmer. Marion enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed taking care of her animals and listening to KATE radio. Marion has a strong love for her family, especially her grandchildren.

Marion is survived by her husband, Robert E. Christenson, of Twin Lakes; seven children: Linda Parmley and her husband, Jerry, of Emmons, Debbie Behr and her husband, Alan, of rural Kiester, Larry Lunning, of Lake Mills, Iowa, Cindy Gonyer and her husband, Les, of Hill City, S.D., Janice Lunning, of Lake Mills, Iowa, Scott Lunning and his wife, Kathy, of Wasilla, Alaska, and Alan Lunning and his wife, Wendy, of Hanlontown, Iowa; grandchildren: Robert Parmley and his wife, Denise, Brandy Erickson, Justin Flugum and his wife, Becki, Kristy Gonyer and her husband, Nathan Schulte, Jenny Gonyer, Matthew Frerich, Candiss Rorvig and her husband, Tony, Michael Lunning, Jenny Lunning, Sarah Lunning and Hannah Lunning; many great-grandchildren; brother, David Drescher and his wife, Marcie, of Conger; special friends the Trolen family: Kato and Erlis, Roger and LeAnn and Danny; and many special friends.

Marion is preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Lydia Drescher; daughter, Joyce; and sister-in-law, Sharon Drescher.
