Blood drive starts Monday

The American Red Cross Blood Drive will hold a blood drive Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week at Sterling State Bank.
Hours Monday will be from 1 to 7 p.m., and noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
There are numerous reasons a patient may need blood, but you need only one reason to give – your reason. Maybe your reason is that you know your single donation of blood can save as many as three lives. Or perhaps, you know that there is no substitute for human blood, but it is perishable and in constant demand.
All blood types are needed, and the rarest blood type is the one not on the shelf when a patient needs it.
Blood is urgently needed every day, in every community. If all blood donors gave three times per year, blood shortages would be rare.
First-time donors are appreciated.
There are four quick steps involved in your donation: medical history, brief physical, donation, and snacks. The actual donation takes about 10 minutes.
To make your appointment for the upcoming blood drive, call the Red Cross office at 507-437-4589. You can also make your appointment online at www.redcrossblood.org/donating-blood.
