Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin welcomed Dr. Don Smith, a general surgeon to the surgery department.

Smith first received a registered nurse degree at St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa and went on to complete medical school at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion and residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Prior to joining the team in Austin, Smith practiced in Iowa City, Iowa, Luverne, Minn., and Sioux Falls, S.D., compiling over 20 years of surgery experience. Smith specializes in all general surgery care and is looking forward to being a part of the Austin community.
