Patricia Wendorf

Patricia Rae Wendorf, 79, died at her home in Hayfield on Oct. 17, 2011. Pat was born July 27, 1932, in Laurens, Iowa, the daughter of Delmer and Eila (Nichols) Perrigo and had two brothers, Lonnie and Terry Perrigo. The family moved to rural Sargeant in 1948. Pat graduated from Austin High School and in later years enjoyed her class reunions and luncheons. Pat married Wally Wendorf on June 4, 1950. They had six children and made their home in the Waltham area. Pat was a happy wife and homemaker. Raising six kids was a full time job. Between cooking (she was a great cook!) cleaning, laundry, vegetable and flower gardening, canning, and sewing, she was plenty busy. Pat and Wally were members of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in rural Waltham. Throughout the years, Pat enjoyed singing in the choir, was a member of the Ruth Circle and enjoyed her turn hosting the monthly dinner and Bible study lesson, and worked on many church projects and dinners.

Pat and Wally enjoyed going to old-time dances when they were younger and taught the kids to dance, twirling around the kitchen table. They often got together with neighbors and friends to play cards and played games with the kids at family gatherings.
