I know how busy parents can be. There are so many things that can fill up a daily schedule: work, school, activities — before and after school. Time is a precious commodity.

I am asking each parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, neighbor and friend of a child in the Austin public school district to help pass the proposed bond referendum. We need to do two simple things.

First, take time to learn about the referendum. Passage of the referendum is critical to the future of our district. We are faced with serious overcrowding, and it will continue to get worse if the referendum isn’t approved.

The second thing we all need to do is vote Yes on Nov. 8. You need to cast your vote and be a part of the decision.
