Arvid Luverne (Al) Bundy, 98, of Austin, died Nov. 5, at the home of his daughter, Arvilla, in Burnsville, Minn.
He was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Wahpeton N. D., to Abram and Gladys (Phillips) Bundy.
He married Florence Schneider in January 1932 in Mankato, Minn. Al was the founder of Bundy Auto Parts, which has been in operation in Austin since June 1950.
A very humble, kind and generous man, Al was well liked by all.
He is survived by his children, Arvilla (Hank) Bell, Burnsville, Phillip (Ann), Austin, Alan, Buena Vista, Colo., Dawn (Doug) Nielson, Austin; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Geil Larson, Ludington, Mich.; sister-in-law, Helen Patton, Coronado, Calif.; many nieces and nephews.
Arvid loved to play cards, bowl in the Senior League and be with his many relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 72 years, Florence; daughter, Joyce; granddaughter, Jennifer; sisters, Violet, Doris, Mildred, Verna; brother, Fulton.
Arvid and Florence were longtime members of the Methodist Church in Austin. Al’s body has been donated to the University of Minnesota for medical science. A memorial service is planned for spirng 2012.
