Memorial services were held at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in St. Cloud for Daniel J. Gedker, 50, of St. Cloud and formerly of Austin, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011.

Dan was born May 17, 1961, in Minot, N.D., to John and Joanne (Estrin) Gedker of Austin. Dan graduated from AHS in 1979 and from Vermilion Community College in Ely in 1981. He married Dawn Rice of Hibbing in 1984, and they had two sons, Andrew of Duluth and Joseph of Sartell. They divorced, and he later married Dawn Abbott of Menahga.

Dan was employed in the optical and precision measurement industries. He loved the outdoors and had a special fondness for the Boundary Waters.

He is survived by his sons; parents; two sisters, Lorrie (Chuck) Ham of Mound and Lisa Gedker of Maple Grove; grandmother, Ethelyn Estrin of Montevideo; former wives; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles and cousins. Memorials are preferred to Place of Hope Ministries, 511 9th Avenue N., St. Cloud, MN 56303 or donor’s choice.
