Ethel S. Bell, 94 of Austin, died Thursday, Nov. 10, at Mayo Health System in Austin.

Ethel Sylvia Nelson was born April 18, 1917, at Lake Park, Minn., the daughter of Louis and Ellen (Peterson) Nelson. She completed high school and was married to Verne Bell on Sept. 29, 1934, at Lyle. Ethel was a homemaker and a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

Ethel loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards. She was an avid golfer and also sewed and enjoyed watching game shows.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Ethel is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Marjorie and Arvid Lau, Austin, Carol and Oscar Huff, Austin, Jane and Robert Walker, Fort Myers, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law: David and Carolyn Bell, Albert Lea, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with The Rev. Glenn L. Monson officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family prefers memorials to the Our Saviors Lutheran Church Building Fund.
