Gladys Augusta Kenyon, 93, of Austin, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Gladys was born Sept. 9, 1918, in Freeborn County, Minn., to Werner and Dorothea (Ziebell) Lau. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Northwood, Iowa, and also attended country school in the Northwood area. On June 28, 1939, she was united in marriage to Hubert E. Kenyon in Northwood. They farmed in the London, Minn., area until moving to Austin in 1972. Gladys worked at Burr Oak Manor as housekeeping supervisor until her retirement in 1983.

Survivors include two sons, LuWayne (Mary) Kenyon, Austin, Neal (Sherry) Kenyon, Lyle; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hubert on June 20, 1983; one sister.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Faith Lutheran Church in London with Pastor Kent Otterman officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Woodbury Cemetery in Lyle.

The casket bearers will be Mark Kenyon, Al Mullenbach, Quinn Kenyon, Brad Walter, Carl Truckenmiller and Chris Sauer.
