Performers of all ages are ready to showcase their skills this weekend during Matchbox Children’s Theatre’s presentation of “Peter Rabbit and Me.”
Nine performers from ages 9 to adult will perform the very first tale of Peter Rabbit’s adventures, when he loses his jacket in the garden.
Director Cameron Davis said the cast has been rehearsing for several weeks, and he is excited about their progress.
“It has been a great cast,” he said. “With a small cast, you really get a chance to work one-on-one with the kids more.”
“Peter Rabbit and Me” is the first MCT play of the season and airs 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Paramount Theatre. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for those 14 and younger, and the play is tailored for preschool kids and older —the cast is high-energy during a production that’s just 50 minutes long.
There shouldn’t be any hitches, either, Davis said.
“It’s been such a smooth production with a small cast,” he said.
Furthermore, all of the performers have been in previous plays, and some have performed in Summerset Theatre productions, as well.
