Men allegedly punch, chase 14-year-old

Police are looking for three men who assaulted a 14-year-old boy behind the Paramount Theatre Sunday night.

The victim was skateboarding with a friend behind the Paramount at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday when three males approached them, according to Lt. John Mueller. The men were reportedly looking for car prowlers in the area and asked the boys whether they were looking into cars. According to police reports, the men ended up chasing the boys, catching up with one of them and punching him an unknown number of times.

Mueller said the boy suffered scrapes and swelling but did not need medical attention. The boy’s glasses and skateboard were broken, totaling about $300 worth of damage.

The suspects are described as:

—White male, between 18 and 20 years old, about 6’1’’, 180 pounds and dark hair.

—White male, between 17 and 20 years old, with curly black hair wearing a dark sweatshirt.

—Hispanic male, between 18 and 20 years old.

Mueller said two men had been questioned over the matter but no arrests had been made.
