Orilla Peters, 89

Funeral services for Orilla L. Peters will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov., 12, 2011, at the LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy with the Rev. Rolf Wangberg officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Orilla Peters, 89, of LeRoy died Tuesday Morning at the Sunrise Cottages in Rochester where she had resided for a short time.
Orilla Louise Peters was born Dec. 4, 1921, near Harmony, Minn., to Louis and Agusta (Bramer) Wahl. She attended school through the eigth grade and was united in marriage to Thomas Raymond Peters in a double ceremony with her brother Arlo and his wife Marion on Dec. 4, 1946. After their marriage they farmed in the LeRoy area until moving into LeRoy in 1960. Orilla resided in the LeRoy area for more than 70 years. She was an active member of the LeRoy Lutheran Church and its Circles. She was a member of the Birthday Club and an active member of the LeRoy Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and she loved to dance. Orilla especially liked spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two children, Steven (Lenore) Peters of Mukwonago, Wis., and Debra (Craig) Miller of Sulpher Springs, Texas; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Steven) Curd, Jason (Elizabeth) Peters, Stacy Miller and Jessica (Mark) McDonald; three great-grandchildren, Ian and Luke McDonald and Kelton Curd, two sisters-in-law, Opal Peters of LeRoy and Marion Wahl of Harmony; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 1988; four sisters, Leolla, Elmira, Bernetta and Beatta and one brother, Arlo.
