Sharon E. Eastlee, 69

The Mass of Christian Burial for Sharon E. Eastlee, 69, of Stewartville, Minn., will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at St. Bernards Catholic Church In Stewartville with Rev. Matt Fasnacht officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery in Stewartville. Sharon died Saturday Nov. 19, 2011, from complications of cancer at the Stewartville Care Center where she had been a rehabilitation patient since May of this year.

Sharon Eastlee

Sharon Elizabeth Eastlee was born June 22, 1942, in Austin, Minn., to Russell and Irene (Walsh) Eastlee. She moved as a young girl with her family to Irwin, Pa., where she attended school and graduated from Irwin H.S. in 1960. The Eastlee Family then moved to South Dakota, and Sharon was employed as a clerical worker for the State of South Dakota License Bureau. She moved to Valaparaiso, Ind., where she was employed at Nothern Indian Public Service Co. for more than 30 years until her retirement in 1997. Sharon was a foster parent for a number of years in Indiana and adopted an infant foster child, Alyssa. They moved to Frankfurt, Miss., to live near her sister Diane and family for a number of years. They then moved to Rochester, Minn., for health reasons before moving to Stewartville in 2007. Sharon had a love for animals as a child and while living in Indiana raised and showed Arabian horses. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, tending to her cats and dogs, reading and was a Chicago Bears fan.

Surviors include her daughter, Alyssa Eastlee of Stewartville; sister, Diane (Larry) Von Wald of Rapid City, S.D.; brother, Michael (Connie) Eastlee of Flower Mound, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents — her mother in August of this year.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at Griffin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday afternoon. Arrangements are with Grifin-Gray F.H. in Stewartville. www.griffin-gray.com.
