A 22-year-old woman is in Mower County Jail pending formal charges after she allegedly threw another woman to the ground and kicked her in the face.
Police Chief Brian Krueger said Autumn Olsen was arrested at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday during a routine traffic stop at the 100 block of Eighth Street SW. Police were called to the Ankeny’s gas station at 902 12th Avenue SW shortly before then for a report of two women fighting.
Olsen allegedly fled before police arrived. The victim and her boyfriend told police Olsen had assaulted them. A witness told police Olsen had grabbed the victim’s hair and threw her to the ground, where Olsen began kicking her in the face.
Olsen was taken into custody for fifth-degree assault, interfering with a 911 call and a stop sign violation after police initiated a traffic stop. She is in jail pending formal charges from the Mower County Attorney’s office.
