There are so many upcoming events for all ages during this Christmas holiday, and we are fortunate to have such agreeable weather with a light touch of snow to put us in the mood.

There’s only one more trip scheduled for our travelers, when we take in the OakRidge Boys on Wednesday at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center.

On Dec. 3, we made a return trip to Lakeville and the 15th showing of the Lowell Lundstrom “Country Christmas Celebration.”

There was a supporting  cast of 70 singers, dancers and musicians, which included a nationally known comedian and a talented 18-year-old gal playing the violin-fiddle  adding to the lively, colorful show.

They bill it as seeing a Branson-style Christmas without leaving the state. The performers were all ages and dressed in appropriate costume. A tribute to our veterans was very fitting, along with the true meaning of Christmas as portrayed with Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus.

Following the show, the entire cast was in the lobby, waiting to greet us all. Several boarded our motorcoach for a quick hello.

The history of Lowell Lundstrom and his evangelism began after he met and married his hometown sweetheart.  He and his wife Connie have spread the Bible, teaching through ministering and authoring more than 15 books.

He also composed more than 600 gospel songs, with 60 music albums. In the 40 years his Gospel team would travel over 300 nights a year. He also was in radio broadcasting for some 20 years.

In 1996 Lowell and Connie started the Celebration Church in Lakeville, wishing to be close to their four children and grandchildren. They both were featured in the program for a short segment.

Paster Lundstrom has been dealing with Parkinsons and Connie is also working on some health issues, but appeared to be ready and anxious to be in the show.

In talking to folks, there were so many people that know of this family and take a great interest in them personally.  This theater also hosts an  Easter Drama, “Beyond the Cross.”

I’m working on a schedule for 2012.

One of the first trips will be a trip to Waterloo, Iowa, for an overnight at the Isle.

February dates are also being worked on.
