With a little more rain and temperatures above freezing, all the snow in the area could soon be gone, according to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wis.
Todd Shea, meteorologist, said cold air trapped north of the area into Canada has not moved south, and south winds have held the mild weather patterns.
He added, “Without any deep snow cover, temperatures just tend to stay a little milder.”
Meteorologists are watching computer models that suggest some weather patterns next week, but it is unclear if the they will hit the area or move south.
Furthermore, it may not be a white Christmas, either.
“I would say there’s nothing in the immediate forecast that’s going to bring up a decent snow cover.”
