Hayfield girls take third at St. Clair Invite

The Hayfield girls basketball team shook off a slow start to beat Canby (5-3 overall) 46-30 and take third place in the Saint Clair Invite Thursday.
The Vikings (4-6 overall) fell down 13-4 as they struggled with turnovers in the first six minutes but they bounced back to finish the game on a 42-17 run.
“We played very poorly in the start and probably had eight of our 15 turnovers in the first six minutes,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said. “Once we cut the start, we played a very good game.”
Sophomore Dani Wagner poured in 19 points to led Hayfield.
