The funeral service for Keith Laverne Bartlett Sr. will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Zion United Methodist Church, East Main Street in Sargeant, Minn., with the Rev. Sharon Goetzinger officiating. Interment will be in Waltham Township Cemetery, rural Waltham, Minn., with military honors by the Hayfield American Legion Rothie Post 330.
Keith Laverne Bartlett, Sr., 84, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 14, 2011, at his home in Sargeant, Minn.
Keith Laverne Bartlett was born on March 16, 1927, the son of Carl and Mildred (Moore) Bartlett. Keith was united in marriage to Shirley Worden in 1962, and later to Nellie Church in 1987. Keith served in the Army from 1954 to 1956 in the Korean Conflict. He farmed in the Sargeant area for many years and was a heavy equipment owner/operator. He was one of the founding members of the Root River Power Antique Association, a member of the Dexter Breakfast Club and the Hayfield American Legion. Keith enjoyed building model steam engines. His hobbies were collecting Lionel Trains and socializing.
Keith is survived by his children, Anna Waters, Hayfield, Keith Bartlett, Jr., Blooming Prairie, Minn., Ellen Bartlett, Hayfield, Phillip Bartlett, Fla., James Bartlett, Austin; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Phyllis Hughes, Florida, Shirley Bartlett, Seattle Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; and one grandson.
Visitation will be 5 to 8: p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
