Lowell Laverne Peterson, 55

Lowell L. Peterson, 55, of San Francisco, Calif., formerly of Minneapolis and Austin, Minn., died of natural causes Nov. 10, 2011, at his home.
Lowell was born Sept. 7, 1956, to Lorraine (Theide) and Byron Peterson in Albert Lea, Minn. He attended Austin High School and graduated in 1974. He attended Riverland Community College in Austin. Lowell acted in several high school and college plays before moving to the Twin Cities area. Throughout most of his life, Lowell worked for a Temp agency where he had many office jobs.
Lowell move to San Francisco, Calif., in 1986, and had lived there for 25 years working at many different businesses. Lowell always said San Francisco was where he lived, but Minnesota was his home. Lowell loved to travel, sing, dance, and entertain. He was a kind and gentle person, loving life to the fullest.
Survivors include his brother, Kim; nephew, Brent; aunt, Alice Rohne, and goddaughter, Whitney Delsey. He is survived by his many Twin Cities friends, Deb, Timm, Alice, Chuck, Theresa, Mark, Rose, and many special cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
There will be a memorial celebration of Lowell’s life, Dec. 17, 2011, at the Austin American Legion at 4 p.m. 809 12th St. SW, Austin. Memorials may be made to the Lowell Peterson Memorial Fund in care of Dawn Helgeson.
