Richard H. Olson, 55

Richard “Rick” Henry Olson, 55, former resident of Laurel, Mont., passed away Dec. 27, 2011, at his home. He suffered from Huntington’s disease for the past 10 years.
Richard was born March 9, 1956. He spent a portion of his childhood at boys ranches. He spent three years in the Marines and was honorably discharged. He moved to Las Vegas, opened his truck shop, and spent 15 years there. He moved to Laurel, Mont., where he owned Bypass Truck Repair and Welding. Rick was very popular in town and everyone knew him by name.
He loved to relax, watching cartoons and movies. He enjoyed playing with his dog, Duke, and they went everywhere together.
Richard is survived by his wife, Gail Olson of Laurel; two sons, Daniel and Richard Olson of Montana; daughter, Lisa Olson of Austin; mother, Evon Troester of Austin; two brothers, Verne (Norma) of Dexter, Ray Olson of Saginaw; two sisters, Joyce Moore (Mike) of New Mexico, Toy Olson of Austin; nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, La Verne “Ode” and brothers, Kenny and Bernard.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Jan. 6, 2012, at the Veterans Cemetery in Laurel.
It was Rick’s desire that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to boys and girls ranches of their choice.
