In fulfilling our mission to to identify, engage and support the development and advancement of diverse arts, entertainment, and cultural activities that benefit people in Austin and the surrounding area, the Austin Area Commission for the Arts would like to invite you to attend two exciting entertainment events at the historic Paramount Theatre organized by local promoter, Denny Chernecki.
Start your New Year’s Eve night off right with some good ol’ fashioned country entertainment. Chernecki has put together a great show that is sure to please any long time country music lover.
It will feature veteran country singer Millie Kittleson, who was a hit on the Paramount stage last Spring. Inducted into the Mid-American Music Hall of Fame in 2009, Kittleson has been known as the region’s First Lady of Country Music and has performed with the Grand Old Opry.
The show will also feature the local band the DC Drifters and Austin’s Got Talent winners Joy and Nate Riley, a brother and sister duo from Austin, and 6 year old singer Caleb Elijah who is accompanied by his mother on piano.
Join us for the fun at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31. The following Saturday will bring a different style of entertainment with the DC Drifters returning to the Paramount on Jan. 7 for a Buddy Holly, Richie Valenz, and The Big Bopper Tribute Concert.
This show will feature hits from the 50s and is an unofficial preview show to the Surf Ballroom’s popular Winter Dance Party in early February.
Tickets for both events can be purchased online at paramounttheatre.org or call 434-0934.
