Florine Louise Jerdet, 80, of Owatonna died on Jan. 9, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Florine was born on Apr 19, 1931, in Warren, Ohio, to Drs. Orian and Uarda Arlene (Nickerson) Olsen. She graduated from Academy High School, Erie, Pa., and then studied at Lincoln College of Chiropractic, Indianapolis. She enjoyed crafting, painting, shopping and spending time with her family, friends and dogs. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandson, Carter. She was a wonderful mother and a good friend to many.

She brought a smile to everyone that met her. Florine was a member of Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church of rural Austin. Survivors include her daughter, Laurie (Jason) Matejcek of Owatonna; two sons, Robert (Diana) Horn II of Scarville, Iowa; Mark Jerdet of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren, Carter Matejcek; Rob Horn III; Jason Horn; Amy (Jeff) Horn Young; Matthew Jerdet; nephews, Dr. Charles (Holly) Hewett & Dave (Elaine) Hewett both of Erie, Pa.; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren Jerdet; two sisters, Dr. Joyce Mitteer and Dr. Jayne Hewett and her brother, Joe Olsen.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 14 at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, rural Austin, with the Rev. Lindsay Stolen officiating. An hour of visitation will precede the funeral at the church. Interment will be in Red Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements completed with the Brick-Meger Funeral Home.
