To go along with all the events of Paint the Town Pink, businesses throughout Austin are doing their part to get involved.

Here are the discount deals that will be happening during festivities in an effort to raise money and awareness to help fight cancer.

•Accentra Credit Union will be selling assorted items inside. Staff will be paying to wear pink and jeans on Friday. All proceeds go to breast cancer research at The Hormel Institute.

•Bendixen Jewelry will offer 10 percent in store merchandise.

•Donut Connections will be selling pink donuts and ice cream.

•Home Plate Restaurant will be giving a $1 off pink waffles and pancakes, with the proceeds going to The Institute.

•Mickey’s Place will be offering pink beer during the Thursday through Sunday events. They have T-shirts made for sale, as well, with the slogan “Big or small, we cure them all.”

•Piggy Blues will have pink gelato and pink velvet Whoopie pies on the menu.

•Spam Museum will have 10 percent off all pink items.

•AmericInn will have 10 percent off whirlpool suites, with proceeds donated to The Hormel Institute.

•Apollo Liquor has decked out Brewster the Rooster with a pink scarf.

•Belles and Beaus will be displaying pink dresses in their display case.

•Games People Play will donate 10 percent of sales to research.

•A pink scarf will be wrapped around Buffy the Cow at the Mower County Fairgrounds.

•Riverland Community College will be selling pink cupcakes.

•Watts Cookin will be giving away a free pink cookie with a purchase of coffee and will have pink drink night including 50 cents off drinks and beer with 25 cents per drink donated back.

•The Cedars of Austin will have a Pink Pride dress-up contest and other pink activities.

•The Pizza Ranch will give those wearing pink 10 percent off.

There will be many more special deals around town before we get into February, I’m sure. We are getting calls every day. Either by fundraising for The Hormel Institute or by creating awareness for breast cancer research, we need your involvement.
