Century edges Austin girls hockey team in OT

The Austin girls hockey team lost its third straight game when it fell to Rochester Century 3-2 in overtime in Rochester Saturday.
The Panthers (7-5 overall, 5-4 Big Nine) won the game when Shantel Loos scored with 2:11 left in the extra session. Loos also forced overtime when she scored early in the third period to make it a 2-2 game.
Austin (7-10 overall, 4-6 Big Nine) took a 2-1 lead when Kennedy Thompson scored two goals in a four-minute span in the second period.
“The girls played a good game and Allison Hoban made some tremendous saves to keep us in it,” Austin head coach Denny Bray said.
Hoban finished with 28 saves.
