The Hayfield girls basketball team cleaned up its turnover problem, but it struggled to hit shots in a 53-33 loss to Stewartville (10-4 overall, 3-0 HVL Gold) in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (6-9 overall, 1-3 HVL Gold) shot just 12 percent (3-for-24) on three-pointers.

“We shot poorly and that’s not going to win you a lot of games,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said. “We’re still trying to find out which style of play makes us the most successful.”
