Louise L. Beeman, 87, of Austin died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center in Austin.

Louise Laraine Zabel was born Sept. 17, 1924, in North Dakota to Helmuth and Daisy (Newling) Zabel. On Sept. 27, 1942, she married Steven Beeman in Austin. The couple had five children. Louise worked as a Nurse’s Aide at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin for 15 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Louise enjoyed square dancing, crocheting and loved going to the lake home. She especially enjoyed conversation with family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Gary (Doreen) Beeman of Manly, Iowa, Shawn Beeman of Rochester; five grandchildren, Andrew Beeman, Angella (Ryan) Pross, Brooke (Dean) DeBoer, Miranda (Jamie) Wilson, Jessica Beeman; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Zabel of Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven; parents, Helmuth and Daisy Zabel; three children, Gloria, Mark, and Steven Jr.; one sister, Anita Smith.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with Theresa Turnbull officiating. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
