Lyle board to review public comment policy

The Lyle Public School board meeting may get a bit quieter in 2012.

The board will address its public comment policy as well as review Lyle Superintendent Jim Dusso’s superintendent contract. Dusso plans to serve the remainder of his one-year contract and move to Kentucky in July, where his wife will be moving to for work.

In addition, the board will also hear a presentation on iPad technology. Dusso said Friday Lyle officials are looking to get iPads into classrooms by the end of the school year, if not next fall, to provide more learning opportunities for students.

Board chairman Dean Rohne may possibly resign from the board Monday as well. There have been several rumors of Rohne’s resignation in previous months, with the latest round beginning at the end of 2011.

Rohne would not comment Tuesday on whether he was resigning from the board. Dusso also would not comment Friday, citing his respect for Rohne. Dusso made a similar call not to comment when former board member Scott Nelson resigned in November.

The board meets at 7 p.m. Monday at the Lyle Public School library.
