Nathan Edward Dorsey, 3, of Austin, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
He was born Dec. 19, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester to Christopher and Michelle (Arons) Dorsey. Nathan enjoyed playing X-box with his brother, Devon, reading books with his sister, Alia, listening to music, dancing, watching Barney DVDs, and visiting his grandma and grandpa’s house. Nathan had an infectious smile and a sweet disposition.
Nathan had many heart surgeries and fought a long, courageus battle. Even after spending many months in the hospital, he always had a big smile for all the doctors and nurses at St Marys. For him, going anywhere was fun, fun, fun.
Survivors include his mom, Michelle Arons-Dorsey and dad, Chris Dorsey; brother, Devon and sister, Alia; grandparents, Ed and Ruth Arons, and Lee Dorsey; great-grandmother, Rosemary Klapperich; uncle, Mike Arons (Smitha); cousins, Drew and Serena; special nurses, Linda Dudas, Heidi Doe, Anne Reichen, and Kim Klapperich; great-uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by great-grandparents, Ray Klapperich, Edward and Margaret Arons and Emma Lee Laury.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The casket bearers will be Nancy and Bob Herron, Kelly and Mike Engh.
